Six Step Ethical Framework
As providers of care, we find ourselves in situations that call for thoughtful consideration about the way we care, or how we feel we should care for each other. To address these situations, Shannex has adopted an ethical framework process which we work through to arrive at a recommendation.
The Six-Step Process
Working through a framework allows all parties the opportunity to consider the ethics of a particular situation thoroughly. This framework can be applied to anyone facing a difficult decision or anyone associated with the issue. Clients, families, employees and volunteers can benefit from using this framework and following the six-step process when faced with a difficult decision.
Respect and careful consideration is necessary when working through the ethical framework as it is paramount to appreciate and respect client autonomy and their rights in regards to care issues.
Shannex strives to provide all individuals with the best care possible. Individual preferences for care are met whenever possible within established and appropriate circumstances. In cases where conflicting opinions exist, the views of all team members are sought and considered.
