This year&#8217;s theme challenged our<em> Great People<\/em> to improve their physical, psychological, social and community wellbeing. <br><br>Together, we celebrated a culture of&nbsp;wellness&nbsp;that energized us all. <\/p><cite>Tag #ShannexWellnessMonth to show us how you&#8217;re taking charge of your wellbeing.<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color\">Highlights<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This years&#8217; theme was &#8220;Total Health is Achievable&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over 15 sites participated in the wellness challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inspired by <strong>Physical Wellness Week<\/strong>, our Parkland communities offered community&nbsp;flu vaccination clinics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This year, Shannex Wellness Month coincided with National Healthy Workplace month<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kim Ritcy, Manager at Parkland Riverview circulated a&nbsp;&#8220;Know&nbsp;Your&nbsp;Lemons&#8221; cart at Royal Court, Canterbury Hall and Monarch Hall to support Breast Health Awareness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shannex Home Office participated in <strong>Psychological Wellbeing Week<\/strong> with a group Yoga class, \u201cThe Working Mind Session\u201d hosted by Learning &amp; Development, and a colouring challenge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parkstone&#8217;s Tammy Day, Kelsey O&#8217;Neil, and Cindy Marble raised an outstanding $500 for Alice House during <strong>Community Wellbeing Week<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color\">Week 1: Physical Wellbeing Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthy eating is more than the foods we eat, it is also about where, when, why and how we eat. If we are more aware of our eating habits, we are more likely to make healthier food choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some tips to practice mindful eating:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make every meal a time to relax (choose to sit at a table and turn off the devices)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use your senses and pay attention to texture, taste, aroma and flavours <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listen to your own hunger and fullness cues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid eating while doing other tasks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider where food comes from<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eat slowly and enjoy every bite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Now mindful eating takes time and practice and doesn\u2019t happen overnight, but why not take some of these tips and work it into your daily habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Challenge: Team member submitted their favourite recipe, pairing it with a description or story of why it is meaningful<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div has-yellow-color has-text-color\">Week 2: Psychological Wellbeing Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mental health includes how you feel about yourself, the quality of your relationships and your ability to manage and cope with the challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some tips to break down mental health stigma:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Educate yourself on mental illness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be aware of your own attitude, behaviours and biases towards mental illness and mental health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be mindful of the impact of your language and say things like \u201cthis person lives with mental illness\u201d rather than \u201cthis person is mentally ill\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Talk openly about mental health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a
