Joyce James, 104 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Joyce, a resident of Losier Hall<\/a>, NB, went to business school and spent her career working in a\u00a0dentist’s office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She loves being busy doing crafts, knitting for the\u00a0maturity floor at the hospital and loves singing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked Joyce what it feels like to be 100, she said, “I feel no\u00a0different. I may be slowing down a bit, but I don’t notice it!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She believes a big part of aging well comes from exercising and diet.\u00a0“The thing with exercise is it can’t be sporadic. It has to be part of\u00a0your lifestyle. Set a time to do it and make it part of your routine.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Phyllis Beaman, 100 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Phyllis Beaman, a resident of Parkland at the Lakes<\/a>, NS, turned 100\u00a0on July 22nd<\/sup>. Phyllis says she’s had a wonderful life. She was raised in the\u00a0country and became a nurse – her husband was an RCMP officer.\u00a0After retirement, they enjoyed travelling across Canada and the US\u00a0in their trailer, visiting children in Chicago and Whitehorse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don’t feel any different being 100,” says Phyllis, “I still live\u00a0independently, participate in exercise classes regularly and enjoy\u00a0concerts here at Parkland.” Phyllis joins a Lady’s Coffee group every Thursday. All the ladies\u00a0bring their own mugs with a story to tell. After Phyllis’s recent\u00a0birthday, she was gifted a new mug from her grandson with the\u00a0quote, “I am not 100. I’m 18, with 82 years of experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Grace Sproule, 100 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Grace Sproule a resident at Thomas Hall<\/a>, NB, enjoyed her 100th<\/sup> Birthday Barbie Bash. The day was celebrated with lots of pink\u00a0and cake! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grace has touched many lives with her carefree demeanour and\u00a0witty personality. When asked how she felt turning 100, she said,\u2019\u00a0\u201cIt was quite an accomplishment.\u201d She grew up with five siblings, is a mother of four, is a\u00a0great-grandmother to three and is a devoted wife. Grace has\u00a0always been family-oriented and says simple things bring her\u00a0the most pleasure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
