{"id":21270,"date":"2023-12-05T16:04:19","date_gmt":"2023-12-05T20:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shannex.com\/?p=21270"},"modified":"2023-12-06T13:31:22","modified_gmt":"2023-12-06T17:31:22","slug":"students-embark-on-a-new-learning-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shannex.com\/fr\/news-announcements\/students-embark-on-a-new-learning-journey\/","title":{"rendered":"Students Embark on a New Learning Journey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Congratulations to the first cohort of Shannex Work and Learn PSW graduates!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The first cohort of students are excited to embark on their brand-new learning journey through the Shannex <em>Work and Learn Personal Support Worker Program<\/em>, a unique opportunity for those looking to begin their career as a personal support worker.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 12 weeks, from November to February, students from New Brunswick will be learning the skills required to competently care for residents living within our long term care communities.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program includes theory-based classroom learning and in lab hands on learning. Students will also learn directly on site through shadowing, volunteering, and on-site practicums. The final step of the program includes an interactive mentorship element.&nbsp; Mentorship provides students the opportunity to work with experienced professionals and see how to put their newly learned skills into practice. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students experience 13 theory-based modules, five additional online and internal certification courses, and over 80 lab and 250 experiential learning hours. Check &amp; Vulnerable Sector Check&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grade 12 Diploma, GED or Mature Learner Status&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recommended Experience in the Health Care Industry&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reliable Transportation&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to computer and reliable internet connection&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer literacy (able to complete online requirements)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>English Language Proficiency testing as needed (IELTs score or equivalent of 6.0 or higher)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successful Employee Interview &amp; Selection
