Care provided in nursing homes is a crucial part of Nova Scotia\u2019s health system, keeps seniors at home \u2013 or in their new home longer \u2013 and prevents prolonged hospital stays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having the right teams of Great People is crucial to providing great care. Continuing Care Assistants are essential members of our care team \u2013 and we need more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is why we\u2019re pleased to share that we\u2019re partnering with the Government of Nova Scotia to meet our communities&#8217; need for more elder care by piloting a new Continuing Care Assistant program at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). Eligible students will graduate and begin working in six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shannex will provide a significant investment that includes classroom and lab space, partial wages for all participants, and guaranteed employment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program will graduate 48 students this year \u2013 one cohort of 24 students in April and an additional 24 students in
