NEWS RELEASE: Le Moniteur Acadien

The Nursing Homes Without Walls program has expanded to include 20 participating facilities across the province. He reached his initial target.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Present in Fredericton, Saint-Jean and Bath, the program was recently launched in Moncton at the Shannex nursing home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInnovative programs, like this one, will play a leading role in allowing seniors to age with dignity, in the comfort of their home,\u201d said the Minister responsible for Seniors, Kathy Bockus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A partnership with Health Excellence Canada and the Center for the Study of Aging at the Universit\u00e9 de Moncton supported the implementation and expansion of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am delighted that the program has grown so much since the launch of the pilot project, and that it continues to provide support to people who wish to age in place,\u201d says the director of the research center, Suzanne. Dupuis-Blanchard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program improves access to health and social services for older adults living in the community. It began as a pilot project in 2019, and became permanent as part of the provincial health plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
