This beautiful community that will be home to 48 community elders and seniors who will continue to be surrounded by Mi\u2019kmaq culture and traditions. The home has three neighbourhoods of 16 suites, each with their own private bathroom, a nursing station, a dining room and access to secure outdoor spaces. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re honoured to support Eskasoni in the creation and opening of this warm, welcoming and culturally significant home for their community. The vast majority of Kiknu team members are from Eskasoni, which makes this home even more special. They will be able to provide exceptional care and support for community elders while keeping Indigenous traditions strong.\u201d<br><em>\u2014 Jason Shannon, President, Shannex<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new home is inspired by Turtle Island, designed in the shape of a turtle with designated central gathering places for community elders and seniors, family, loved ones and the community. The front lobby includes a clerestory supported by seven poles, to represent the seven traditional Mi\u2019kmaq districts in this region.
