As part of community giving program <a href=\"https:\/\/shannex.com\/shannexcares\/\">Shannex Cares<\/a>, four times per year, we ask our Great People to nominate and vote for organizations or groups that are doing great work supporting seniors and making a difference in the community. Inspired by our Great People to help create visible and meaningful opportunities for elders to be seen, heard and valued for their wisdom and talents, Shannex Cares enables us to give back and recognize elder allies in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following organizations will each be receiving a <strong>Great People Give<\/strong> donation of $1,000:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nova Scotia: <a href=\"https:\/\/cehhospice.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colchester East Hants Hospice Society<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Brunswick: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/salisburyhelpinghandsinc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salisbury Helping Hands Inc<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ontario: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajaxseniorsclub.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ajax Seniors Club<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The recipients have received the good news that they are being awarded a <strong>Great People Give<\/strong> donation and they really appreciate your support.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-x-large-font-size\"><strong>About the recipients:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/cehhospice.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colchester East Hants Hospice Society<\/a> is a grassroots organization with over 30 dedicated volunteers who support people and their families who are dying and grieving beyond what is available through the health care system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/salisburyhelpinghandsinc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salisbury Helping Hands Inc<\/a> has serviced the community for 23 years. The organization works with many community organizations such as the Lions club, Salisbury Legion, local churches, schools and businesses to help provide local supports and access to food and basic necessities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajaxseniorsclub.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ajax Seniors Club<\/a> plans, facilitates and provides opportunity for seniors to come together in friendship.
