We\u2019re thrilled to announce that the first cohort of Nova Scotia\u2019s new Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) training program has officially joined the healthcare workforce at Moody Hall<\/a>. Moody Hall is a licensed long-term care community located on the grounds of Bloomsbury, a new lifestyle community in Bedford, Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventeen dedicated students have completed the six-month pilot program, a significant step toward enhancing the quality of care for older adults in Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pilot training program features a modernized curriculum that addresses the complex care requirements of an aging population. Key training components include resident safety, personal care, and support for social and mental well-being. This comprehensive and streamlined approach equips CCAs with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in their roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second class of students began the program on October 1, 2024, and feedback from this pilot will help shape future training standards across Nova Scotia. With ongoing support for tuition, childcare, transportation, and more, this initiative is paving the way for a robust healthcare workforce ready to meet the needs of our aging population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
