In our communities, we are focused on working with residents and families to identify risk factors for falls and fall-related injuries and developing individualized plans that minimize risk and respect the wishes of residents, so they continue to have choice and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you know that most falls are preventable? Follow these steps to help prevent slips, trips, and falls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<figure <strong>body<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Build your balance, strength, and flexibility with regular physical activity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhance your stability and co-ordination with activities such as walking, swimming or Tai Chi<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase the intensity of your physical activity over time to build stronger muscles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IMPROVE your health<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review medications regularly with your healthcare team and discuss any side effects, such as feeling dizzy or sleepy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your eyesight and hearing regularly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage in social activities, maintain oral hygiene, and eat a nutritious diet to help reduce the risk of falls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>REMOVE hazards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep your floors clutter-free<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use handrails and grab bars to support with transfers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure that your environment has adequate lighting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wear well-fitting and supportive footwear inside and outside<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;If you have questions about our Falls Prevention program, please do not hesitate to speak with our clinical leaders&nbsp;at our
