Here\u2019s a look at the organizations and the important work they\u2019re doing:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:60%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/shannex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ShannexCares_logo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26767\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shannex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ShannexCares_logo.png 1800w, https:\/\/shannex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ShannexCares_logo-300x100.png 300w, https:\/\/shannex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ShannexCares_logo-1024x341.png 1024w, https:\/\/shannex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ShannexCares_logo-768x256.png 768w, https:\/\/shannex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ShannexCares_logo-1536x512.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lilylake.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Lily Lake Pavilion Inc.<\/strong><\/a><strong> &#8211; Saint John, NB<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Lily Lake Pavilion provides recreational activities for older adults, offering a peaceful and supportive environment where they can thrive and stay active.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/urbanruralrides.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Urban\/Rural Rides (URR)<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Fundy Region, Miramichi, NB<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>URR provides affordable transportation for older adults to medical appointments through volunteer drivers. With the grant, they can offer 250 low-cost rides to low-income older adults, helping them access essential services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>3. <a href=\"https:\/\/swnb.ymca.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Saint John, NB<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serving the community for 170 years, the YMCA supports older adults&#8217; health and well-being through fitness programs, volunteer opportunities, and social activities. Funding will expand older adult-focused programs and provide equipment, supplies, and guest speakers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>4. <a href=\"https:\/\/tema.foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>The Tema Foundation<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Halifax, NS<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aiming to enhance mental wellness for older adults, the Tema Foundation will use the grant to provide mental health education workshops focused on anxiety, depression, and isolation. This initiative will help older adults build resilience and promote positive mental health practices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>5. <a href=\"https:\/\/fireloch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>FireLoch Retreat and Gathering Place<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Antigonish, NS<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This social enterprise offers programs for older adults focusing on seasonal wellness, storytelling, and cultural engagement. The funding will support a storytelling project that helps older adults share and preserve their family histories, with a special focus on Black and Indigenous communities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>6. <a href=\"https:\/\/newdawnmealsonwheels.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>New Dawn Meals on Wheels<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Sydney, NS<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Dawn Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals and wellness checks to older adults. The funding will subsidize approximately 363 meals for low-income older adults, offering both nourishment and important social connections.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>7. <a href=\"https:\/\/welcomeinn.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Welcome Inn Community Centre<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Hamilton, ON<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Welcome Inn provides meals, educational sessions, and volunteer-driven programs to combat isolation and marginalization. The grant will help expand their Diners Club and Visitation Program, serving 350 at-risk older adults and offering them opportunities for connection and support.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>8. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsetobicoke.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Arts Etobicoke<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Etobicoke, ON<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Offering free arts education to older adults, Arts Etobicoke fosters creativity and social connections. Funding will support additional art classes for older adults, helping reduce waitlists and ensuring more older adults can access these valuable programs.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its launch, Shannex Cares has supported <strong>32 organizations<\/strong> and provided valuable insight into the needs of older adults across the regions we serve.
