Courtney Amamio\u2019s career in healthcare began at just 18, working in dietary services in long term care. Six years later, she shifted paths, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and floating between facilities in Dartmouth and Halifax. Her drive for growth didn\u2019t stop there, she returned to school to become a Registered Nurse, again taking on the role of a float nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the pandemic, Courtney played a key role in launching the 811 COVID call centre. \u201cIt was a great experience,\u201d she recalls. The phones never stopped, things changed by the minute, but she will never forget how great it felt to help people and be part of something so impactful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since starting her career in long term care in 2001, Courtney has remained an advocate for older adults. Even after years in acute care, long term care always called her back. She most recently served as Community Manager at Maplestone Enhanced Care<\/a> in Halifax before stepping into her newest role at Opal Ridge Hall<\/a>, a licensed long term care community in Dartmouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership and education continue to drive her. Courtney is committed to supporting her team in their professional growth, just as she challenges herself to do the same. Her open-door policy and dedication to resident care and team member development will be central to her work at Opal Ridge Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
