Lisa Snodgrass, BN, RN, CIC is the Regional Clinical Support Partner for New Brunswick. She recently achieved an internationally recognized standard of competence in the infection prevention & control field. Lisa is now one in 6,000 infection prevention and control professionals working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, ambulatory care centers, and other healthcare settings throughout the world!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CIC\u00ae credential is administered by the Canadian Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, which identifies healthcare professionals who have shown a mastery of knowledge in infection prevention and control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her certification is recognized by professional associations in infection control and is also accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked why it was important for her to have this certification, Lisa said: \u201cit demonstrates a high level of commitment to infection prevention and control, and gives me credibility when working with others in the field.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working towards her CIC gave her the opportunity to learn more in depth knowledge of infection control practices. \u201cAs a CIC, I now have the resources to ensure our organization is using a best practice approach to infection prevention and control and it gives me a sound foundation upon which to grow and improve our organization\u2019s infection prevention and control program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The path towards certification has allowed Lisa to work with others in the field and create a network of partnerships that will be mutually beneficial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
