Update: March 6, 2020

Like other healthcare providers, Shannex teams have been monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation for some time and are taking steps to protect residents and team members.
Under the guidance of our organizational Infection Prevention and Control specialist and consistent with our organizational infection prevention and control practices, multidisciplinary teams have been meeting regularly to monitor the situation and follow all communication and direction coming from the World Health Organization, the Public Health Agency of Canada and our provincial Public Health bodies.
As an additional precaution, we have activated our Pandemic Preparedness Plan to monitor and prepare all team and established a staff and visitor screening process at all locations.
As always, you can protect yourself and your loved ones from illnesses by taking some simple steps.

  • Wash and sanitize hands often
  • Monitor individual symptoms and take appropriate precautions
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
  • Avoid contact with others who are sick
  • Avoid touching your face

We encourage all residents and families to contact a member of the management team at their Shannex, Parkland or Faubourg community with any questions about their practices.
