Volunteer Spotlight: Shining Service

Skylar Ozkaynak is a dedicated youth volunteer at Embassy Hall, a licensed long term care community located in Quispamsis, N.B. Skylar shines as she interacts with residents, taking them to hair appointments, helping with daily activities and chatting about their lives. During her summer break from high school, Skylar volunteered at Embassy Hall every day during the week. Everyone looked forward to her arrival each day, proving what a caring and enthusiastic presence she was in the community.

As she steps into her senior year of high school, Skylar has her sights set on her future as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) though the New Brunswick Community College in Saint John, N.B.

“I love getting to know the residents, spending quality time with them and helping them,” says Skylar. “I get to have heartfelt moments with residents which makes me happy.”
