Business Manager, Caritas

A Pastry Chef by trade, Angela began her journey at Parkland at the Gardens (PATG) in the role of Maître d’ in 2019, where she quickly learned of a higher calling: wanting to engage more with the residents and to be part of their lived-in experiences.

Angela reflects on an experience at PATG that spoke to her passion for the resident experience.

“COVID-19 hit and we became the residents’ family. Myself and the recreation staff were holding iPads and writing on whiteboards to allow residents to communicate with their family,” said Angela. “It was amazing to go into the Gardens and to see the way we care for our seniors and to see all the staff working together to give them the best experience, which is what led me into Harmony Recreation.”

Her journey within Parkland communities saw her evolving from a Recreation Coach to a Client Move-in Coordinator at Parkland Clayton Park and eventually landing the role of Business Manager at Caritas Residence. 

The Client Move-in Coordinator role introduced Angela to a new dynamic environment into leadership and business management. “I was responsible for introducing new residents, preparing rooms for new residents, and billing. I took what I learned there and moved into the Business Manager role here at Caritas.”

For Angela, no two days are alike as a Business Manager, a role that allows her to wear multiple hats and engage with various aspects of community life. “Caritas is unique in so many ways. It’s a small campus, and the Sisters are so invested in the lives of our team members. It’s such a community feeling, and everyone at Caritas is just as dedicated as you are to the residents.” 

While Angela’s role may have changed, her dedication to connecting with residents remains unchanged. Whether as a Recreation Coach or Business Manager, Angela finds joy in building meaningful relationships with those under her care.
