We remain committed to providing open communication about our response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how it is affecting our communities. Our priority will always be to first share information with residents, families and our team members. We will also share Community Reports regularly on our website.
Currently, we have no active resident or employee cases of COVID-19.
We continue to evolve our COVID-19 response with extensive protection measures in place including daily screening temperature checks for team members and multiple daily temperature checks for residents, masks for all team members, appropriate use of PPE, enhanced cleaning, physical distancing and visitor restrictions. We have also prepared designated care/cohorting areas with dedicated staffing for residents with COVID-19 should they be required.
COVID-19 Road to Connection Planning
As communities see fewer cases of COVID-19, provincial governments have begun to lessen restrictions. We watch these developments very closely and pay particular attention to directives from public health bodies as we make our own plans.
In every region where we operate, our plan is to lessen restrictions in a phased approach that is consistent with our guiding principles and provincial phases and triggers. This includes placing the health and wellbeing of residents and team members first, minimizing risk, relying on best available evidence and being proactive and forward thinking. The lessening of restrictions may change at any time based on direction from public health and ongoing surveillance of COVID-19 cases in the communities where we operate and at our own locations. Visit our Road to Connection webpage for more information.
We have more than 4,500 dedicated and compassionate team members who work on the front lines serving our nearly 4,300 residents in more than 50 residences every day. These exceptional team members continue to have the full support of their operational management teams and our COVID-19 Response Team. Together, they have been successful in limiting the spread of COVID-19, but we remain vigilant and continue to work together to protect residents with ongoing support from our partners at Public Health, the health authorities, Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, New Brunswick Department of Social Development and our union partnerships.
