In the heart of Fredericton, NB, the Shannex CCA Work and Learn Program is sowing the seeds of compassion and community service. As an integral part of the program, students are required to dedicate eight hours to a community organization, and four outstanding individuals chose to channel their efforts towards the noble cause championed by Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization committed to providing safe living, stability, and affordable home ownership, has found dedicated allies in our Shannex Work and Learn students. The Fredericton Habitat Restore, a cornerstone of Habitat’s mission, serves as a vital source of income by offering discounted items, with proceeds flowing directly into the construction of homes for those in need.

Work and Learn students, Harmeet Kaur, Peggy Henderson, Stephen Guyette, and Julius Aninon, spent their day crafting items for sale and placing products on the Fredericton Habitat Restore shelves.

Habitat for Humanity deserves a resounding thank you for hosting and providing an enriching experience for these students. Through programs like Shannex CCA Work and Learn, the future promises a community that builds not just houses but a foundation of support, care, and shared responsibility.
