Great People Feature: Natalie Johnstone

Natalie Johnstone brings to Opal Ridge Hall a combination of deep compassion, hands-on experience, and a vision for what person-centred care should look and feel like. Her leadership is already setting a tone of openness, mutual respect, and genuine collaboration, where both team members and residents feel heard, valued, and supported. 

With a Shannex career that began in 2011, Natalie has built a strong foundation serving as Hospitality Manager at Parkstone Enhanced Care and Site Manager at Maplestone Enhanced Care. Every step of her journey has shaped her into the confident, capable leader she is today. She is someone who understands the daily rhythm of life in long term care and leads with both head and heart. 

Her goals for Opal Ridge Hall are clear and inspiring: create a home where dignity, respect, and family presence are felt by every resident, and where every team member feels empowered and appreciated. Natalie’s leadership style is warm and approachable, her door is always open, and she’s truly committed to knowing each team member and resident personally. 

“Every resident has a hand to be held, eyes to be met, and a story to be heard,” Natalie says, and that guiding belief is already being felt throughout the community.
