Small Moments, Lasting Connections 

Parkland on Eglinton West, ON, has recently welcomed Itty Bitty Scholars Daycare, a space for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children located right within the community. Throughout the day, shared smiles in the hallways and cheerful greetings are already bringing a special sense of warmth and joy to residents’ daily lives. 

These everyday interactions create opportunities for connection that feel natural and uplifting. Residents often pause to watch, wave, or share a kind word, while children respond with curiosity and delight. The program supports an open and connected environment, encouraging relationships across generations while extending a welcoming presence into the surrounding neighbourhood. 

Shared Moments – Parkland at the Gardens 

At Parkland at the Gardens, Halifax, N.S., a year-end school visit by Grade 3 students from Inglis Street Elementary School filled the afternoon with creativity. Residents and students spent time together making colourful bead bracelets, playing games, reading stories, and sharing conversations that bridged generations. 

The visit also included a special musical moment, with students performing piano pieces that filled the space with warmth. These shared experiences offered residents a chance to connect with the energy and enthusiasm of youth, while students gained a deeper appreciation for the stories and presence of older generations. Moments like these remind everyone of the comfort that comes from simply spending time together.
