May is Mental Health Month, and our Shannex communities are taking note.
At Northumberland Hall, the importance of physical activity on mental well-being took center stage.
Residents embraced the opportunity to soak up the sunshine, recognizing its profound impact on their spirits, on a nature walk in Amherst Lions Park.
Resident Beverly Veinot found a new companion in newcomer, June Roberts. “The sunshine feels amazing. It’s a boost for the soul” said June. This nature walk, organized by Recreation Programmer, Deanna Brown, marked the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Deanna highlighted the therapeutic benefits of outdoor activity, noting, “Fresh air helps you clear your mind. It offers you a different perspective.”
June’s journey at Northumberland Hall is off to a promising start, guided by the warmth of community and the embrace of nature.
