Great People Give Donations | 2024

It’s this time of year again and we’re excited to announce the recipients of our Great People Give donations. As part of community giving program Shannex Cares, four times per year, we ask our Great People to nominate and vote for organizations or groups that are doing great work supporting seniors and making a difference in the community. Inspired by our Great People to help create visible and meaningful opportunities for elders to be seen, heard and valued for their wisdom and talents, Shannex Cares enables us to give back and recognize elder allies in the community.

The following organizations will each be receiving a Great People Give donation of $1,000:

• Nova Scotia: Colchester East Hants Hospice Society
• New Brunswick: Salisbury Helping Hands Inc
• Ontario: Ajax Seniors Club

The recipients have received the good news that they are being awarded a Great People Give donation and they really appreciate your support. 

About the recipients:

The Colchester East Hants Hospice Society is a grassroots organization with over 30 dedicated volunteers who support people and their families who are dying and grieving beyond what is available through the health care system. 

Salisbury Helping Hands Inc has serviced the community for 23 years. The organization works with many community organizations such as the Lions club, Salisbury Legion, local churches, schools and businesses to help provide local supports and access to food and basic necessities.

The Ajax Seniors Club plans, facilitates and provides opportunity for seniors to come together in friendship. They have become a hub for seniors in the Ajax area.
