Who Can Apply?
Twice per year, we award Community Spirit Grants of up to $2,500 per initiative to individuals or organizations who are doing great work to support seniors in our community in the areas of Seniors’ Wellness, Seniors’ Active Living, and Seniors’ Social Connections.
You must meet one of the following criteria to apply:
- Be an employee of Shannex, Parkland, or Faubourg du Mascaret
- A community-based non-profit organization, registered charity, or registered association
- Applications must be from regions where Shannex operates in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or Ontario
Thank you for your interest in the Shannex Cares Community Spirit Grant. Applications are currently closed; please check back in Spring 2025.
Examples of projects could include:
- Establishing a network to support older adults in their communities.
- Enhancing seniors’ wellness, active living, and social connections.
- Creating intergenerational learning and relationship-building opportunities.
- Providing community services that promote older adult independence.
- Organizing and promoting resident-engaging conferences and forums.
- Developing research, tools, and resources.
- Raising awareness of elder abuse, including financial exploitation.
- Training older adult volunteers to mentor peers facing loneliness and grief.
