A New Pathway for Internationally Educated Nurses to Become Licensed Practical Nurses at Shannex
With more than 35 years as a trusted provider of quality accommodations, services and care to seniors, Shannex is built on a foundation of Great People and exceptional service. As the need for seniors’ living options continues to grow, we are working to welcome more front-line team members to a meaningful career with our organization.
Shannex is fortunate to have many Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) currently working in various roles in our Enhanced Care and Retirement Living communities. Our new in-house program is designed to prepare Internationally Educated Nurses who may or may not already work at Shannex, to be Licensed Practical Nurses in one of our communities.
About the Program
The Shannex Enhanced LPN Orientation Program is an innovative and supportive process that allows Internationally Educated Nurses to confidently transition into LPN practice at Shannex. The program will be delivered at a newly designed and developed healthcare learning space in West Bedford. Each cohort can accommodate 16 nurses as they participate in a six-week, in-person comprehensive nursing refresher, with a focus on caring for the aging adult at Shannex. By the end of the program, participants will provide safe, competent, ethical, and compassionate nursing care according to Shannex’s policies and standards of practice.
Shannex’s Learning and Development team will facilitate in-person learning and provide ongoing support to nurses as they transition into practice. We are now accepting applications for our next cohorts scheduled to start in September and November.
