The launch of the Nursing Home Without Walls (NHWW) program at Faubourg du Mascaret in Moncton, N.B., took place on November 17, 2025, at Pavillon Landry. The event brought together community members and healthcare leaders to learn more about this innovative initiative designed to help older adults age in place, with the support and resources they need to live independently at home for as long as possible.
The program connects older adults to community-based care and services, aiming to improve quality of life and support independent living at home. Services include initiatives to combat loneliness, access to health information, and a community-driven approach to aging in place.
“I am so grateful to be part of a program dedicated to promoting older adults’ wellbeing through flexible, personalized support. Most of all, I look forward to giving back to older adults whose contributions shape the community,” said Chelsie Gautreau, Seniors Navigator, NHWW Moncton.
The event highlighted the collaboration between Shannex, the Department of Social Development, Université de Moncton, and Healthcare Excellence Canada. This partnership has enabled the NHWW program to expand into Moncton, providing much-needed navigation services to older adults and caregivers in the region.
Shannex is proud to continue its role in supporting the wellbeing of older adults in the Moncton community.
