Safety Tips and Coffee Sips

The JOHSC (Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee) at Harbourstone Enhanced Care in Cape Breton recently hosted a dynamic safety event for the entire community.  

During the event, participants engaged in tabletop safety exercises, refreshed their knowledge on lifting techniques and PACE procedures though online education, and explored various personal protective equipment (PPE) displays tailored to each department. The committee also highlighted the crucial role JOHSC members play in fostering both physically and mentally safe workplaces.  

Over 70 team members participated in the event, with dedicated JOHSC members ready to address any safety-related questions on site.  

To add a touch of extra fun, the event featured a delightful, iced coffee bar offering a variety of flavors, syrups and whipped toppings, providing a tasty treat while attendees learned about essential safety procedures that help protect both residents and team members.
