Filipino culture is rooted in values such as respect, resilience, family, community, and caring for others. We were proud to celebrate Filipino Heritage Month by recognizing team members whose cultural values shape their work every day.

Celebrating Our Great People

John Marie Alonzo, Recruitment Assistant

Home Office

For 17 years, Jackie Jesso, a dedicated housekeeper, has brightened Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth, N.S., by keeping residents’ rooms spotless and comfortable. She takes the time to chat, listen, and share her friendly spirit, bringing care to residents’ daily lives.

CJ Llana

Parkstone Enhanced Care

CJ Llana highlights the Filipino tradition of caring deeply for elders. Working at Shannex allows them to express the love, respect, and compassion they grew up with, ensuring residents receive care that is not only professional but also deeply personal and heartfelt.

Arnold Mondoy, LPN

Vimy Court

Arnold Mondoy shares the Filipino value of malasakit, showing genuine care, compassion, and concern for others. This inspires him to provide thoughtful, resident-centered care, build meaningful relationships, and contribute positively to a supportive environment.

Celebrating Culture and Community

The team at Vimy Court, Bible Hill, N.S., came together to mark Filipino Heritage Month with a meaningful flag-raising ceremony, joined by colleagues in a shared celebration of culture and community.
