We remain committed to providing open communication about our response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how it is affecting our communities.
Our priority will always be to first share information with residents, families and our team members. We will also share Community Reports regularly on our website.
As a result of contact tracing and subsequent testing, we can report the following information.
Two additional residents from the Fishermen’s Cove neighbourhood at Harbourstone Enhanced Care have tested positive for COVID-19. The remaining tests for residents on this neighbourhood and the adjacent neighbourhood have returned negative. The first resident remains in hospital and the additional two residents who have tested positive have been transferred to a designated care/cohorting area (DCA) within Harbourstone.
The resident from the Ringdale neighbourhood at Maplestone Enhanced Care who tested positive earlier this week remains in our regional DCA. All test results for residents of the Ringdale neighbourhood and the adjacent Evans neighbourhood have returned negative.
To date, we have received no positive test results for employees at either Harbourstone Enhanced Care or Maplestone Enhanced Care.
The affected residents who are now in our DCAs, are experiencing mild symptoms at this time and have dedicated team members assigned to their care and comfort.
Teams at each location and members of our COVID-19 Response Team, which includes our Infection Control Specialist and Occupational Health leadership, continue to work with Public Health to ensure all appropriate infection control measures are being taken.
We are very grateful for our dedicated team members who remain committed to caring for residents during these challenging times and for the ongoing support and collaboration we have received from Public Health and the Department of Health and Wellness.
About Designated Care/Cohorting Areas
Designated Care/Cohorting Areas (DCAs) minimize the risk to other residents by grouping residents with COVID-19 together separated from those who are not affected. These areas are staffed by team members who are dedicated to caring for residents with COVID-19. More detailed information about our DCAs is available here.
