The month of May is about celebrating our team members who make our communities a great place to live, work and visit. Every one of our communities is unique but what is consistent is the presence of Great People that is felt regardless of where you are.
The experiences we create for those who live and work in our communities are inspired by our Guiding Principles of being safe, honest, compassionate and professional.

Launch Week
Join us in celebrating Great People Month!
Launch week was full of companionship and appreciation across all our communities. We shared good eats – Great People cake and Tims Smile cookies to engaging in team-building activities, the team spirit energy was felt by all.
Some communities even held special Service Recognition events, honoring the dedication of our exceptional team members. Together, we embody our Guiding Principles, creating vibrant and welcoming environments where safety, honesty, compassion, and professionalism thrive.
Week 1: Safety Week
During Safety Week at Shannex communities, we highlighted our Great People’s commitment to safety.
Through fire extinguisher training and other sessions, we promoted awareness. On the National Day of Mourning, the Harbourstone team honored those lost in workplace accidents. We also recognized Safety Heroes for their efforts in implementing safety measures.
In conjunction with National Nurses Week, we celebrated nurses dedicated to compassionate care. These activities underscore our dedication to fostering a safe and caring environment. Together, we honor the contributions of our Great People in ensuring the well-being of all within our Shannex family.
Week 2: Honest Week
This week, we embraced the value of honesty in all our interactions with team members, residents, and family members. Honesty is key to our commitment to excellence, helping us build trust and create a culture where honesty is a way of life.
On Wednesday, May 15th all of our communities celebrated National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. Each tasty treat was paired with QR code on the cookie wrapper for an extra entry into our weekly prize and grand prize draw: free groceries for a year!
